Lash Retention 101: Side and Stomach Sleepers

Lash Retention 101: Side and Stomach Sleepers
How does the way you sleep affect your retention? Sleeping on your stomach or your side makes it difficult to retain your lashes, especially the end lashes! It can cause premature shedding of your eyelash extensions and also your natural eyelashes! The constant rubbing and friction on your pillow causes tension to the root of the hair and damage to the shaft, as well as causing your natural lashes to grow inwards or all different directions (dead giveaway to lash artists if your a face sleeper!)

What can we do? Well, try sleep on your back...? 😜 (Sleeping on your back is actually better for your posture, keeps your spine aligned, reduces tension headaches, avoids creases, wrinkles and irritated facial skin... the list goes on). But I know for true tummy sleepers, sleeping on your back isn't going to happen overnight!

- Get a silk pillow case (better for hair, skin and friction)
- Switch to thinner diameters (Russian or Mega Volume, they hold better and less likely to fall off)
- Try a 3D eye mask to protect your lashes! (Can purchase these online or ask your lash artist)
- Lash artists make sure to notice these things and make sure to fill every last end lash for maximum retention!
